Supportive Screenings

Supportive Screenings

Scott Cinemas run Supportive Screenings at our cinemas in Barnstaple, Bridgwater, Bristol & Exmouth.

Supportive Screenings are often attended by those with autism or dementia, and are designed to present a more relaxed environment than a typical film screening. They are often referred to as "AFS" or "DFS" screenings.

These are shows that are held in a supportive environment - lighting is left at half level, sound is turned down low, and people are free to move around the auditorium and talk to others.

How does a Supportive Screening differ from any other cinema screening?

  • House lights are left on low setting;
  • The sound is turned down to a lower volume;
  • There will be no trailers or ads before the film;
  • People are allowed to move around during the screening and make some noise;
  • The film will start promptly at the time advertised

When are Supportive Screenings?

Barnstaple &  Bridgwater. We will be hosting Autism Friendly Screenings on the 2nd Saturday of each month, 10.45am film start.

Cinema doors are open from 10.30am for 10.45am film start. We will do our very best to give at least 4 weeks notice on a film.
